We welcome Trade-Ins and we also Buy for Cash.
Any Guitar, Bass, Musical Instruments, Amplifiers, Effects, in fact All Musical Equipment!
If you have decided it's time to change your current instrument for something newer and more inspiring, or perhaps you just want to raise some cash, then it's sometimes more difficult to know what to do for best with your old instrument. Do you keep it, sell it privately, or trade it against your next purchase?
Trade-Ins
We offer you the option to trade your old instrument against your next purchase and will give you a fair market price for your old instrument based on it's condition, make and model and our view of general market conditions at the time. Regardless of which music shop you deal with you will of course get the highest price if you sell your old instrument privately, but of course then you have to arrange it, advertise it, demonstrate it and so on. We will be happy to take away all of that hassle for you.
Selling Your Instrument for Cash
We offer several options if you want to sell your instrument, perhaps as part of a trade-in deal, or perhaps you have a surplus instrument, or you just want to raise some cash.
Depending on the condition, make and model we can simply buy the instrument from you and pay you cash on the spot for it. As with trade-ins we will pay a fair trade price.
Agency Sale of your Instrument
We can take your instrument into the store and display, demonstrate and sell it on your behalf. We will agree the Maximum and Minimum price you are prepared to accept and the amount that will be returned to you from the sale. We charge a commission for this service which is included in the final sale price paid by the buyer of your guitar. Normally we find that this service works very well for more expensive instruments. You are free at any time to withdraw the instrument from sale or to adjust the price as you feel is required. We do not charge to stock the instrument and while with us it is fully insured against theft or damage.
Don't live in Edinburgh ?
To give you a realistic price for your instrument we really need to see it physically. If you don't live locally we may be able to agree a price using pictures by email or by arranging to ship your guitar to us for appraisal. In this case it's best to call us to discuss a proposal. Alternatively you can e-mail us at webshop@importedinstruments.com for more information.
